A super easy recipe for masala chip salt

  • 2 portions of oven chips
  • 1 tbsp tomato puree
  • 1 /2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 1/4 tsp sugar (to enhance the tomato flavor)
  • 1 tsp tikka/masala powder
  • 1 tsp chilli flakes (optional)
  • Coriander leaves (optional - to serve)
  1. Cook your oven chips as per the packet instructions, until they're 5 minutes from being fully cooked

  2. Whilst your chips are cooking, measure out the above ingredients

  3. Remove the chips from the oven/airfryer when they're 5 minutes from being cooked; add the the masala mixture to the chips and stir to coat

  4. Return to cook for final 5 minutes

  5. Remove from oven/air fryer, top with coriander (optional) and serve 

How to make masala chips/fries at home:

1. Cook your chips until they're almost cooked (5 minutes from done) I chose to cook mine in my beloved ActiFry air fryer today

2. Whilst your chips are cooking, measure out the masala mix ingredients

3. When your chips are around 5 minutes from being cooked, add in the Masala mix and stir to coat the chips
4. Return to cook the chips for the final 5 minutes
