Halo vs Actifry Air Cooker Comparason

Actifry Vs Halo

Not sure whether to buy the Breville Halo or the Tefal Actifry? Here’s a quick comparison which might help!

Actifry Vs Halo

  • Both the Halo and the Actifry are air fryers which rotate the food as it cooks
  • The Halo is cheaper than the Actifry  (by £20)
  • The Halo is supposedly quieter than the Actifry  (I own the Traditional Actifry , it is louder than my other kitchen appliances, but not too loud – you get used to the sound after a while)
  •  The Halo comes with a roasting tray (The Actifry comes with no accessories)
  • Both come with a measuring spoon for measuring oil
  • Both come with a rotating paddle

The difference between the Halo and Actifry

  • The Halo has a halogen light heat source at the top. Meaning the food is heated from above (and is able to be grilled) with a fan assist. Whereas the Actifry doesn’t have a halogen light, and is heated from the back side of the pan. For this reason the Halo is virtually silent, whereas the Actifry sounds like a fan.
  • The Actifry has a detachable paddle, the Halos paddle is attached to the pan

Reviews which mentioned the Halo vs the Actifry have said:

“Having seen the Tefal Actifry in use, the Halo is much quieter in use, takes the same amount of time and gives the same end result for less than half of the price. Bargain and highly recommended”

“We’ve always had a Tefal Actifry. we thought we’d give Breville Halo plus a try…We’re glad we did because it compares well with the Actifry.. And a lot cheaper too!”

“I bought the Halo to replace my Tefal Actifry and I must say I’m delighted. It’s far more robust and there is no paddle to break. It can do far more, grill, bake etc. A far better product.”

“The Halo is not quite as versatile as the Tefal Actifry but after owning both I much prefer the Breville”

“Bought the Halo to replace an ActiFry that was turning whatever we cooked in it to mush. This is so much better, cooks quicker with a much more varied food range, easy to clean and seems less bulky than the ActiFry. Everything cooked so far has come out perfectly, nothing has had the dehydrated look to it which is always a bonus. I cannot express how much better this is, so glad I didn’t chance another Tefal.”

“The Halo is smaller that I expected but that is not a bad thing and it takes a good 20 to 25 minutes to make a protion of chips and the capacity of the fryer maybe an issue for a larger family of 2 adults and 2 kids. I have also owned a Tefal Actifry in the past and I would say this is probably slightly better.”

Which Air fryer should you choose?

I’d say it comes down to which one you like to look of more. Aestetically, they’re both quite different. Personally, I think the black Actifry is easier to style into more kitchens. Whereas, the Halo is green and white and might be more of a colour clash!

Also – the Halo is cheaper, so, if you’re torn – i’d probably go for the Halo.
