I absolutely love the Ninja dual air fryer for making really nice dinners so much easier. This chicken shawarma recipe is marinated chicken thighs with a lovely greek yogurt-based sauce – all cooked in about 15 minutes! It’s lovely with rice, chips or stacked up on a naan bread with a fresh, simple salad.

1. Begin by trimming your chicken thighs of any excess fat, finely slicing your onion and peeling/crushing the garlic cloves
2. Then marinate it in the spices and oil, and set aside in the fridge for 30 minutes – but preferably for a few hours or overnight
3. Then add it all into the drawer with the crisper plate in – cook on air fry mode for 15 minutes – or until the chicken is cooked through
4. Whilst the chicken is cooking make the sauce and the simple salad
5. Then, once cooked – layer the sauce, salad and chicken onto a flatbread or naan and enjoy!

Ingredients
For the chicken:
- 6 Boneless chicken thigh fillets
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 onion
- 1 tsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp chilli powder
Shawarma Sauce (optional - see notes)

- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp tahini (optional)
- 3 garlic cloves
- Handful fresh mint leaves
- Pinch of salt
To serve:
- Simple salad - e.g. lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber and a little lemon juice
- Flatbread or naan bread of your choice
- Chips! (Pop some in the other drawer if you fancy)
Instructions
1. Trim the chicken thighs of any excess fat, finely slice the onion, and peel and crush the garlic cloves
2. Combine all the 'chicken' ingredients in a bowl and set in the fridge to marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes - ideally a few hours or even overnight
3. Once marinated, add into one of your air fryer drawers with the crisper drawer in - cook on 'air fry' for 15 minutes
4. Whilst that's cooking - combine the ingredients on the 'sauce' list above and stir to make a lovely sauce and a simple salad of your choice
5. Once the chicken is cooked through - serve! Great on a naan bread with lots of sauce and a side of chips
Notes
You can make this with chicken breast if you prefer, too. Always check that the chicken is cooked thoroughly and white inside before serving.
If you're serving this with chips, put some cut potatoes in the other drawer with a little oil on air fry mode for about 20 minutes.
