Actifry Chicken Satay Skewers

Satay chicken skewers are a super popular starter from Chinese restaurants. Here’s a super simple recipe to make them at home – with lots of sauce to drizzle over and mop up with some rice! 

You could make these skewers with chicken breasts if you prefer! 

How to make satay chicken in the Actifry

1. Add chicken thighs to a large bowl (you may want to chop them in half if they’re big) 

2. Add ginger garlic paste 

3. Add soy sauce 

4. Add honey

5. Add coconut milk

6. Add a large heaped spoon of peanut butter 

7. Mix until smooth

8. Pour into the Actifry

9. Cook for 30 minutes

10. Thread the chicken onto skewers (optional) or serve un-skewered with freshly chopped spring onion

Yield: 4 Skewers

Actifry Chicken Satay Skewers

Chinese satay chicken skewers made in the Actifry. Delicious coconut peanut sauce.

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 30 minutes
Total Time 40 minutes

Ingredients

  • 8 chicken thighs
  • 1 Tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1x 400ml Tin Coconut Milk
  • 1 Heaped Tbsp Peanut Butter
  • 1 Tbsp Honey

To Serve (Optional)

  • Chopped spring onion

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl until the sauce is smooth (not including the spring onion)
  2. Tip into the Actifry and cook with the paddle in for 30 minutes
  3. Once cooked through, thread the chicken onto skewers and drizzle over extra sauce - you don't need to thread onto skewers though if you don't want to
  4. Serve with fresh chopped spring onion
