These chicken tikka kebabs are one of my favourite meals. They hit the ‘take-away’ craving I sometimes have for chicken tikka, but they’re honestly so much better, both on calories and cost.
You can make these in the air fryer, on the BBQ or under the grill. The recipe is for lean chicken breast, peppers and onions cooked then stacked on a flatbread with mayo and lettuce, so good!
You can even marinate the chicken the night before and have it ready to cook straight from the fridge; perfect for a busy weeknight.
I used my Ninja outdoor grill to cook these and really couldn’t recommend it enough, if you’ve been weighing one up, I’d recommend it, I rarely use my BBQ anymore!

- Tikka or tandoori marinade (available in most supermarkets)
- Spray oil
To serve:
- 2 flatbreads or wraps
- Mayo or yogurt
- Lettuce (optional
Instructions
- Cut the chicken and vegetables into bite-sized pieces.
- Coat the chicken in the tikka or tandoori marinade. You can cook straight away or leave it in the fridge until you're ready — it can be prepped the night before.
- Thread the chicken, peppers and onion onto skewers, alternating as you go.
- Spray lightly with oil.
- Air fry, BBQ or grill until the chicken is cooked through and slightly charred at the edges.
- Warm your flatbreads or wraps, then fill with the kebab chicken and vegetables, mayo or yogurt, and lettuce if using.
Notes
Marinating overnight makes a big difference to the flavour if you have time — just coat the chicken, cover and pop it in the fridge. The marinade does all the work! Cooking times will vary depending on whether you're using an air fryer, grill or BBQ — just make sure the chicken is cooked through with no pink in the middle before serving.
