Pepperoni Pizza Smash Burgers

easy pepperoni pizza burgers

These pepperoni pizza smash burgers are my new favourite style of burgers! They perfectly blend the two styles of fake-away into a really easy and delicious dinner! These feel like such a treat dinner but really are very simple to pull together!

For the buns, I’ve used supermarket garlic ciabatta slices, which work soooo well! I also have baked this whole meal in the oven as it felt the easiest route with minimal washing up, but you can of course make these in your air fryer or pan if you’d rather!

I have used a mixture of mozerella and burger cheese in these to make them feel like a proper ‘hybrid’ but you can use just the one type if it’s all you have in, or these would also work really well with cheddar I think!

Pizza burgers are so good! The perfect mix of cheese, burger, pepperoni and tomato sauce! I used garlic ciabbata squares for these.

    Prep Time 5 minutes
    Cook Time 15 minutes
    Total Time 20 minutes

    Ingredients

    • 2 garlic ciabatta squares (Aldi — come in a pack of 4)
    • 2 shop-bought smash burgers
    • 2 pepperoni slices
    • A handful of grated mozzarella
    • 2 cheap cheese slices (optional, to make it feel more ‘burger’)
    • 1 tbsp pasta or pizza sauce, plus extra for the top (I used the Aldi mascarpone stir-through one)
    • A handful of rocket

    Instructions

      1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (or whatever temperature your packets suggest).
      2. Cook the smash burgers and ciabatta squares as per the packet instructions, minus 2 minutes.
      3. Then, take them out of the oven and spread a tbsp of sauce on each ciabatta base, scatter with mozzarella, then stack a smash burger, cheese, the second burger, more cheese and mozzarella, and the pepperoni.
      4. Return to the oven for the final 2 minutes to finish cooking and melt the cheese.
      5. Smear the top ciabatta square with a little more sauce, add rocket, squish together and serve, these are lovely with chips!

    Notes

I baked mine in the oven as it is the least amount of pans and washing up! But you can cook these in the air fryer or a pan too.
