Shopping List – Planned For You Week 1

Week 1 meal plan - planned for you

I’ve done the meal plan so you don’t have to. This is Week 1 of my new ‘Planned For You’ series, where I plan 5 dinners, write the shopping list and link all the recipes in one place – so all you have to do is shop and cook.

This week’s shop came to just over £40 for me at Aldi and included leftovers. This serves 2, with leftovers on Monday and Wednesday. Let me know how you get on and any feedback is really welcome – I’m trying to make this as easy to follow as possible!

If you’re following the meal plan, remember to double up the rice when you make the Katsu curry, so you have leftovers for the following day’s egg fried rice!

🍝 Monday – Creamy Cheesy Chicken and Mascarpone Pasta Bake

I’ve done the meal plan so you don’t have to; ‘Planned For You’ – Week 1.

This is my first week trying this, so let me know any feedback and how you get on! I’m trying to make this as easy to follow as possible, so I’ve written everything up fully and linked it in my bio for you to copy into your phone or print out for shopping!

This week’s shop came to just over £40 for me and included leftovers. This serves 2, with leftovers on Monday and Wednesday.

The meals:

🍝 Monday – Creamy Cheesy Chicken & Mascarpone Pasta Bake
🌮 Tuesday – Crispy Baked Chicken Tacos with Potatoes
🥘 Wednesday – Sausage Casserole with Crusty Bread
🍛 Thursday – Fish Finger Katsu Curry
🥡 Friday – Chinese Chilli Chicken with Egg Fried Rice, Spring Rolls & Sweet Chilli Dip

The shopping list:

I did my shop at Aldi this week. I assume you have some items in your cupboards already (e.g. oil), so just check the list against your cupboards before heading to the shops! You can copy and paste the below into your notes app to make it easier for you in the shops!

Fridge:

– 4 chicken breasts (or 6 if you want bigger portions)
– 8-10 sausages
– Optional – guacamole and soured cream dip (to serve with the tacos)

Freezer:

– 1 box of fish fingers (you’ll need 8 fish fingers)
– 1 pack of frozen chicken bites (I like the breaded chunks from Aldi)
– Spring rolls or any Chinese takeaway sides you fancy!

Fresh veg:

– 4 onions
– 4-5 peppers (I buy the ‘wonky’ packs)
– 1 bag of potatoes (or frozen chips and prepared mash if you don’t want to make them from scratch)
– 1 garlic bulb (or garlic paste)
– 1 pack of spring onions (optional – mostly for garnish)
– 4 carrots (I buy the wonky packs)
– Tenderstem broccoli (to go with the katsu curry, though normal broccoli works too)
– Lettuce (optional – if you’d like it in the tacos)

Dairy:

– 250g mascarpone cheese
– Cheddar cheese

Cupboard:

– 500g pasta – any shape
– 500g long grain rice
– 1-2 eggs (for the egg fried rice)
– 1 pack of mini tortilla wraps or taco shells
– Bake-at-home baguettes (optional, to serve with the sausage casserole)
– 2 x 400g tins of chopped tomatoes
– 1 x tin of mixed taco beans (or kidney beans/black beans – ideally in tomato sauce rather than water)
– 1 chicken stock cube
– Chinese curry sauce (I get the Mayflower one from B&M, but most shops sell something similar)
– Dark soy sauce
– Sweet chilli sauce
– Taco or fajita seasoning
– Rice wine vinegar
– Cornflour
– 1 tsp sugar
– Italian seasoning
– Smoked paprika
– Salt
– Pepper
– Vegetable oil
