This sticky hoisin chicken stir fry is ready in just 20 minutes and is SO good, proper better-than-takeaway vibes! Crispy-edged chicken, crunchy stir fry veg and noodles, all coated in the stickiest hoisin sauce. If you’ve been making my fakeaway recipes lately, you’ll probably already have 90% of the ingredients in your cupboard!

The star of the show is the hoisin sauce. I used Mayflower and it’s a genuine 10/10, proper takeaway flavour.

How to make a sticky hoisin chicken stir fry:

1. Mix all the sauce ingredients together in a bowl.

2. Take 2 tbsp of the sauce and mix it through the sliced chicken, then coat the chicken in the cornflour. This is the secret to those lovely crispy edges.

3. Boil the broccoli for 2 minutes, then lift it out with a slotted spoon and cook your noodles in the same pan for the time stated on the packet.

4. Add a little oil to a different hot pan and fry the chicken until golden and crisp.

5. Add the rest of the veg and the broccoli to the pan with the chicken, and stir fry for 2 minutes.

6. Add the cooked noodles and pour the remaining sauce over the top.

7. Toss it all together to coat in that sticky sauce, then serve! If it’s a bit thick in the pan, loosen it with a splash of water, or more hoisin or soy.

I’ve used Mayflower’s mixes for YEARS and genuinely love them, the curry sauces, this hoisin, the southern gravy and their frozen bits are all soooo good. They’re offering FREE shipping over £10 on their online store with the code HELENVIP (limited time only!), so it’s the perfect time to stock up. You can shop the Mayflower Hoi Sin Sauce here.
