These fajita seasoned chicken burgers are one of my favourite easy dinners, or lunches. The Ninja Dual air fryer is great for recipes like this – there’s no need to add any eggs, breadcrumbs or excessive oil making these burgers about as ‘clean’ as they can be.
I use a low fat % lean ground / minced chicken, with a fajita spice pack (or you can make your own spice seasoning, see notes below), with fresh red onion, garlic and coriander – they pack lots of flavour for quite minimal effort. Top with any salad bits you fancy – I tend to do avocado, red onion, lettuce and tomato and a generous amount of sour cream and chive or some fresh yogurt or mayo.
The recipe makes 4 burgers, however, I can only fit 2 burgers in a drawer at a time – you can cook all 4 by using both drawers, or cook 2 at a time and use the other basket for fries or chips. If you only need 1 or 2 burgers, the rest of the mixture freezes really well (just form it into patties and freeze between parchment paper), or you can form it into meatballs and cook it another night which makes a great addition to a pasta bake, too!

1. Begin by gathering and preparing your ingredients; slice the avocado, tomato and onion into thin slices to top the burger, and add the garlic clove, coriander and 1/2 red onion into a food processor.
Slice the potatoes into fries (if you’re making fries).
2. Finely chop the 1/2 red onion, handful of coriander and 2 garlic cloves using your food processor if you have one – or by hand
3. Then combine the fajita seasoning, finely chopped mixture and chicken mince in a large bowl – mix to combine using a fork, then form into patties with clean, dry hands (it’s a little sticky but this is the easiest way to do it)
4. Then place the patties into the ninja dual air fryer and drizzle (or spray) with a little oil
5. Cook on ‘air fry’ mode, default temperature for 13-15 minutes (depending how thick you’ve made them, mine usually take 13 minutes)
6. Then, they’ll be ready! I did fries in the other drawer, which I cooked for 20 minutes on air fry mode, and used the final 5 minutes of them cooking to assemble my burgers on the plate

To serve (optional)
- Bread buns
- Avocado
- Tomato
- Red Onion
- Sour cream and chive dip, greek yogurt or mayo

- Cook on 'air fry mode' on the default temperature for 13-15 minutes depending on how thick you've made them
- Then, assemble them on a burger bun with sliced avocado, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and sauce of your choice (sour cream and chive dip goes great with this).
- Serve and enjoy!
Notes
There's no need to flip the burgers part way through.
No need to change the temperature of your ninja dual air fryer either, just click 'air fry' mode and amend the time.
Choose whichever fajita seasoning pack you fancy - from mild to spicy, or make your own mixture if you'd prefer
