The wings are seasoned and air fried until crispy, then tossed in a sweet, sticky chilli sauce with peppers and onion. The sauce takes minutes to make and uses just a handful of store cupboard ingredients. Honestly so good any day of the week!

How to make sticky chilli chicken wings:

1. Season the chicken wings with garlic granules, salt and pepper, then spray lightly with oil

2. Cut your veg into bite-sized pieces and mix together all the sauce ingredients in a bowl and set aside – it’s worth getting this all prepped and ready before you start cooking as it comes together quickly!

3. Heat a pan on high with a little oil, add the onion first and fry for 2 minutes, then tip in the peppers and cook for 1 more minute

4. Pour the sauce into the hot pan and let it bubble and thicken

5. Add the cooked wings and toss to coat everything in the sauce – add a splash of water if needed to loosen

Sticky Chilli Chicken Wings
Crispy air fryer chicken wings tossed in a sticky sweet chilli sauce with peppers and onion - a proper fakeaway at home for under £3 a portion.
Ingredients
- 1 pack of raw Chicken wings
- 1 tsp garlic granules
- Salt and pepper
For the veg:
- 1 red pepper
- 1 green pepper
- 1 red onion
- Spring onion, to serve (optional)
For the sauce:
- 3 tbsp sweet chilli sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp rice wine vinegar
- 3 tbsp water
- 1 tsp cornflour
Instructions
- Season the chicken wings with garlic granules, salt and pepper.
- Air fry until crispy and cooked through.
- Cut the peppers and onion into bite-sized pieces.
- Heat a pan on high with a little oil and add the onion, fry for 2 minutes.
- Add the peppers and cook for 1 more minute.
- Mix together the sauce ingredients and pour into the hot pan, let it bubble and thicken.
- Add the cooked wings and toss to coat. Add a splash of water if the sauce is too thick.
- Serve topped with spring onion if using.
Notes
Cooking times for the wings will vary depending on your air fryer and the size of the wings - just make sure they're crispy on the outside and cooked through with no pink in the middle before adding to the sauce. The sauce thickens quickly once it hits the pan so have everything ready to go before you pour it in!
